Panoramic point – S.Antonio, Morra del Villar

The church of Sant’Antonio overlooks the town of Morra, rising on a rocky promontory, an unmistakable landmark on the provincial road between Busca and Dronero. The small rural chapel dating back to 1861 is full of many votive offerings that tell of the population’s devotion and connection to this place. Easily reachable, given its strategic position, it is a natural terrace overlooking the Cuneo plain, so much so that it has been included as a Panoramic Point in the Regional Landscape Plan. From here a path leads in a few minutes to the cross at the top of the hill. This cross was erected as a symbol of hope during the Spanish flu epidemic of 1918; in 2020 during the pandemic it was restored and since then it has illuminated the nights of the inhabitants of Villar.
