Have you ever dreamed of cycling along wide high-altitude gravel roads, immersed in forest silence and surrounded by breathtaking views?
“In the Saddle on High Routes” is the perfect tour for you!
A week-long adventure on MTB (muscle or e-bike) or gravel bike, along the spectacular Strada dei Cannoni and Strada della Gardetta, through authentic villages, alpine pastures, and traces of ancient history.

ITINERARY: 7 Days / 6 Nights

Daily Stages:

• Day 1 – Dronero → Pagliero
  Let the adventure begin! Ride along the cycle path toward Villar San Costanzo, crossing the pedestrian bridge over the Maira, then climb the dirt road to Colle di Valmala to join the historic Strada dei Cannoni, ending in San Damiano Macra.
  36 km | +1,460 m

• Day 2 – Pagliero → Elva
  Spectacular views all the way to Colle di Sampeyre and Colle Bicocca. Descend into Elva and visit the fascinating Hair Museum.
  30 km | +1,392 m

• Day 3 – Elva → Marmora
  A softer stage through hamlets and frescoed churches. Ride along the Napoleonic Road to reach Marmora.
  28 km | +1,070 m

• Day 4 – Marmora → Canosio (Gardetta Plateau)
  Intense emotions await on the legendary Colle Fauniera and across the Gardetta Plateau, beneath the majestic Rocca La Meja.
  44 km | +1,646 m

• Day 5 – Canosio → Chiappera
  Through cycle paths and forest trails to the stunning village of Chiappera, at the foot of Rocca Castello and Provenzale.
  27 km | +1,286 m

• Day 6 – Chiappera → Celle Macra
  Ride along the valley’s main road, through sacred art and anchovy-seller history, until the unique area of Celle Macra.
  33 km | +850 m

• Day 7 – Celle Macra → Dronero
  Return ride through woods and Maira cycle paths, back to the gateway of Valle Maira: Dronero.
  32 km | +705 m

(based on 2 participants, in a double room with full board)

 PRICE INCLUDES:

• 6 nights in double/twin rooms

• Meals: 6 dinners, 4 packed lunches, 2 lunches at local inns/refuges (in Stroppo and on the Gardetta Plateau), 6 breakfasts

• On-site welcome: briefing at the tourist office, tour package and documentation, route explanation, and local support throughout the journey
