Have you ever dreamed of crossing wide, high-altitude gravel roads on your bike, immersed in the silence of the woods and surrounded by breathtaking views?
“Saddle Up on the High Trails” is the perfect tour for you! A week on an MTB (mountain bike or e-bike) or gravel bike, along the spectacular Strade dei Cannoni and Gardetta roads, through authentic villages, high-altitude pastures, and traces of history.

ITINERARY: 7 days / 6 nights

Daily stages:

• Day 1 – Dronero → Pagliero
  The adventure begins! Cycle path towards Villar San Costanzo crossing the footbridge over the Maira, then an uphill climb on a dirt road to Colle di Valmala to join the historic Strada dei Cannoni as far as San Damiano Macra.

• Day 2 – Pagliero → Elva
  Spectacular views up to Colle di Sampeyre and Colle Bicocca. Descent to Elva and a visit to the Hair Museum.
  30 km | +1,392 m

• Day 3 – Elva → Marmora
  A gentler stage through villages and frescoed churches. Via the Strada Napoleonica to Marmora.
  28 km | +1,070 m

• Day 4 – Marmora → Canosio (Gardetta)
  Intense thrills on the legendary Colle Fauniera and the Gardetta Plateau, next to the majestic Rocca La Meja.
  44 km | +1,646 m

• Day 5 – Canosio → Chiappera
  Along cycle paths and forest tracks to the charming village of Chiappera, at the foot of Rocca Castello and Provenzale.
  27 km | +1,286 m

• Day 6 – Chiappera → Celle Macra
  Along the main valley road, through sacred art and stories of anchovy sellers to the unique area of Celle Macra.
  33 km | +850 m

• Day 7 – Celle Macra → Dronero
  Return through woods and cycle paths along the Maira to the gateway of the Maira Valley, Dronero.
  32 km | +705 m
