LOCAL WINE TASTING WORKSHOP

LOCAL WINE TASTING WORKSHOP

LOCAL WINE TASTING WORKSHOP IN CELLE DI MACRA SUNDAY, MAY 31, 2026

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, starting at 5:45 PM, a new tasting workshop dedicated to wines made from local grapes will be held in Celle di Macra, at the Cantunal building in Borgata Castellaro.

The centuries-old tradition of viticulture, which had fallen into disuse in recent decades, has returned to the Maira Valley in recent years, thanks to the initiative of several entrepreneurs.

In the sunny areas of the middle and lower Maira Valley, new vineyards are being replanted and are adapting well to climate change.

The MAURO VINI company, founded in Roddino d’Alba and relocated to Dronero in 1924, was a pioneer in this adventure and, over the years, has developed a strong passion for rediscovering the ancient grape varieties of the Maira Valley.

The owners of the MAURO VINI company will lead participants through a tasting of wines made from Maira Valley grapes, highlighting their unique qualities and organoleptic characteristics.

The Local wine tasting workshop will be a journey to discover not only classic wines but also new offerings made from the grapes of local varieties.

The event is organized by the Municipalities of Macra and Celle di Macra, in collaboration with the Upper Maira Valley Ecomuseum and with the support of the Dronero Professional Training Center.

The local wine tasting workshop will be held at the CANTUNAL in Borgata Castellaro, in Celle di Macra, and will begin at 5:45 PM.
