“Le Madamè” Concert

“Le Madamè” Concert

To celebrate St. John’s Day, a musical performance by the group “LE MADAME’ will take place on Sunday, June 21, at 4:00 PM in Celle di Macra, Borgata Chiesa.

Le Madamè is a musical group composed of four women who perform polyphonic vocals accompanied by accordion, guitar, and percussion. Their concert is a journey through Italian folk music: an immersion into roots and collective memory, through the eyes of women from the past and present who meet in music, storytelling, sweetness, and energy. The repertoire stems from careful research and meticulous arrangement of traditional folk songs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries: songs of work, women, outlaws, love, hope, resistance, and participation. Their performance alternates between intense, introspective pieces and moments of great vitality, where the rhythm invites dancing and sharing. The four musicians have solid musical and conservatory training, and their experience is based on harmony, authenticity, and a passion for folk history and culture.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Municipalities of Celle di Macra and Macra, the Upper Maira Valley Ecomuseum, and the Pro Loco Seles.

Attendance at the concert is free of charge; reservations are appreciated at the following email address: proloco.seles@gmail.com
