Cineforum for children and families “UN MONDO A PARTE” Wednesday, August 12 in Celle di Macra – IX RASSEGNA CINE&MUSICA E… ALL’ECOMUSEO DELL’ALTA VALLE MAIRA

The final appointment of the cineforums dedicated to children and families of the IX RASSEGNA CINE&MUSICA E….. ALL’ECOMUSEO DELL’ALTA VALLE MAIRA which offers a rich summer programme, consisting of ten live cultural events in the ecomuseum territories.

The programme combines live concerts and outdoor cineforums in the ecomuseum cells, designed to entertain residents and tourists of all ages and to create moments of community.

The free events take place between July and August 2026 in the five suggestive mountain villages of Celle di Macra, Macra, Marmora, Prazzo, and Elva.

Wednesday, AUGUST 12 at 9:00 PM there will be a screening of the film for children and families “UN MONDO A PARTE” in Borgata Chiesa at the Cultural Lab hall.

Michele is a primary school teacher from Rome, tired and worn down by the chaos of the big city, who decides to move to Rupe, a tiny and isolated village in the heart of Abruzzo.

Here he finds an opposite reality, where he teaches a single multi-grade class of only seven children which, however, risks closure due to a lack of enrollment.

If the school closes, the village loses its last glimmer of life and disappears forever.

Together with the determined vice-principal Agnese, Michele decides to do everything to save it, and the two invent bizarre stratagems to attract new pupils, including immigrant children.

The local community, initially suspicious, gradually joins their difficult battle.

Amidst snow, wolves, and daily hardships, the teacher rediscovers the profound value of unity.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Celle di Macra and Pro Loco Seles.

Participation in the event is free of charge.

The initiative is part of the project Participatory experiences of the Upper Maira Valley Ecomuseum territory funded by the CRT Foundation through the Ordinary Grants Call, and the project Educational paths & workshops of the Upper Maira Valley Ecomuseum funded by the CRC Foundation through the General Call.
