Tour of the small churches of Stroppo

Tour of the small churches of Stroppo

A tour through the hamlets of Stroppo, exploring art and religious heritage.

From the hamlet of Paschero, take the path that leads straight to the first chapel on the itinerary: the Chapel of San Giacomo, before continuing towards Pessa. The path climbs up a ridge, where the Tom d’Alegre cave is tucked away. A short descent brings you to the hamlet of Caudano, home to the Lazzaretto, built in the 15th century.

From Caudano, continue towards Morinesio, home to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria, which dates back to the 14th century. As you walk through the hamlet, you’ll come across the Chapel of San Bernardo. Heading down from Morinesio, the path leads to the Church of San Peyre. From there, a mule track brings you back to the starting point in Paschero di Stroppo, where the Parish Church of San Giovanni Battista stands in the main square.
