Rombo di Stroppia Crag

Definitely one of the most interesting and wild crags in the valley. The rock is an excellent limestone, very varied, offering an athletic yet technical climbing style. Mostly, you climb on vertical walls with short bulges, while the first few meters are often on slabs. Very long and rewarding pitches. Great work by bolter Flavio Parussa on this high-mountain crag.
The approach isn’t immediate (about 1 hour from the car), but it’s truly worth it. East-facing and at an altitude of 2,100 m, but be careful: on summer days the sun beats down hard here, and it’s better to wait until 12:00 PM to climb once the sun has passed.
Excellent bolting with bolts and consistent pitches for the proposed grade. There are about 16 pitches (some with two lengths) up to 40 m long (!!) with difficulties from 5c to 7b.
Access from the parking lot near the Campo Base Refuge (an excellent base) first on a dirt road until you take the Dino Icardi trail which climbs towards the Stroppia Refuge. Just before the rocky rampart where the trail climbs, with the impressive Stroppia Waterfalls on the left, take a track that quickly leads to the crag.
A first-class view of the Castello-Provenzale Group, which is located right in front of the crag.
