Monte Bellino Loop

Monte Bellino Loop

An itinerary offering breathtaking views of the ridges along the Italian-French border and the rocky faces of Castello Provenzale, crossing through pastures and summit stones.

The excursion starts in Acceglio, where you follow the paved road towards Chiappera. Once you reach the village of Villar, turn right to head up the Traversiera valley, first on asphalt and then on a dirt track.

Just before reaching the Capanna Sociale Rifugio Carmagnola, turn towards La Colletta along a gravel traverse. After just over 500m, you will need to carry your bike to reach the summit of Monte Bellino.

Descend on a technical trail on the opposite side that leads to Grange Collet via Colle di Bellino.

From here, a quick descent takes you to Chiappera; once you reach the village, head down on asphalt following the signs for the Maira springs.

At an altitude of 1,640m, take a single track that reaches Ponte Maira and allows you to return to Acceglio alongside the stream.

The loop includes 17 km of dirt tracks, 12.5 km of trails, and the rest on asphalt.
