Monte bellino loop

Monte bellino loop

An itinerary that offers a breathtaking spectacle on the crests of the Italian-French border and on the rocky ìpinnaî of the Provençal Castle, crossing pastures and summit stones.

The excursion begins in Acceglio, where you follow the paved road towards Chiappera. Once in the village of Villar, turn right to go up the valley of Traversiera first on asphalt, then on a dirt road. Shortly before arriving at the Capanna Sociale Rifugio Carmagnola, turn off towards the Colletta along a gravel traverse. After just over 500m you take your bike on your shoulder to get to the top of Monte Bellino. Go down again on a technical path on the opposite side that leads to the Grange Collet passing through the Colle di Bellino. From here a rapid descent leads to Chiappera, when, having reached the inhabited center, you descend on asphalt following the signs for the sources of the Maira. At an altitude of 1640, take a single trail that reaches Ponte Maira and allows you to return to Acceglio alongside the stream.
The ring includes 17 km of dirt tracks, 12.5 km of trials and the rest of asphalt.
