Baùdetta Course – Festive bells 🔔

A journey to discover the baùdetta, the typical bell-ringing style used in the Occitan valleys to mark moments of celebration and popular tradition.

For autumn 2026, Espaci Occitan is offering a theoretical-practical course dedicated to bells together with Giuseppe Notabella, trumpeter, music teacher, and passionate bell scholar originally from Celle di Macra.

During the four evening meetings, it will be possible to learn about the origins, curiosities, and techniques related to bells, while also learning to play the baùdetta and experimenting with hand independence exercises and rhythmic approaches.
