Located in front of the Castello-Provenzale group at an altitude of 1,650 m and a stone’s throw from the Stroppia waterfalls, the Base Camp is the ideal starting point for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Or simply for a relaxing stay in the unspoilt nature of the upper Maira Valley.
Who are we?
The Rifugio. A stage stop on the Occitan Paths, GTA, Via Alpina, Chambeyron Tour, it offers accommodation in double rooms with private bathroom or dormitories with 4, 6 or 8 places. We are open from 28 December to the following 31 October, and can be reached by car.
The campsite. Large grassy pitches along the banks of the Maurin river, equipped with electricity connections, accommodate tents and motorhomes from the beginning of June to the end of September.
Cuisine Fresh and traditional, local recipes, specialities such as meats, cheeses, flours, cold meats and fish, favouring seasonal products, and accompanied by local beers and Piedmont wines.
Our services. Climbing or hiking and cycling with qualified guides. Cross-country ski, snowshoe and mountain bike hire. Base Camp School Experience: activities for schools and school trips in contact with nature.
