A beautiful crag immersed in a high mountain setting with fantastic views of the high plateau of Gardetta. An ideal place for beginners but also for those who love friction slabs on rock of limestone-dolomite. Southern exposure and an altitude of 2,500 m make it an ideal spot for the summer period… but bring your sunscreen because there isn’t a shred of shade.
Bolted routes and difficulties ranging from 5b to 6b for a total of 22 pitches divided into two sectors close to each other.
The access is a bit long, but nearby you’ll find the Gardetta Hut, an excellent stopover to enjoy the crag for a weekend of climbing and hiking.
During the summer period, the road is often closed to traffic from Grange Selvest, upstream from the village of Preit di Canosio.
You can use a shuttle that will take you to Colle del Preit (check road closure and shuttle times).
From the pass, start on foot and first reach the Gardetta Hut and then the Gardetta Pass; from there take the trail on the right to Bric Cassin, and after a small saddle you will find the crag just below. 1.5 hours walk from Colle del Preit. If, however, the road isopen, you can continue by car as far as the gate for the Gardetta Hut. In this case, you will be at the base of the crag in 30 minutes.
