Occitan dance workshop
Community Steps: the Occitan dance workshop for young people from the RiattivaMenti Project arrives in Villar San Costanzo
Discovering the cultural heritage of the territory through rhythm, sharing, and movement: this is the goal of the new Occitan dance workshop dedicated to young people, promoted as part of the RiattivaMenti project.
The initiative invites youth with participatory potential to reclaim local roots in a contemporary key, transforming tradition into an opportunity for aggregation and psychophysical well-being.
The course, with free access, will be held in Villar San Costanzo and is designed as an open space for sociality. Guided by instructor Paolo Lombardo, assisted by other expert teachers, participants will learn the fundamental steps of the traditional dances of the Occitan Valleys — from courentas to balets — rediscovering the value of the circle and the community. This is not merely an artistic or choreutic proposal, but a true tool to contrast youth isolation, stimulate creativity, and foster new interpersonal connections.
The RiattivaMenti project thus continues its commitment to territorial animation, putting the new generations at the center and highlighting how local culture can become a motor for social regeneration.
The first of the 5 lessons will be held on Friday, September 11 from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM in Villar San Costanzo, at “La Casa delle Idee” via IV novembre 1
Participation in the workshop is free – Reservations are appreciated
