REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE “FOREST THERAPY WORKSHOP” FOR YOUNG PEOPLE PLANNED WITHIN THE PROJECT RIATTIVAMENTI: TRADITIONAL TRADES AND YOUTH PARTICIPATION TO REVITALIZE THE MAIRA VALLEY

The forest is a place of well-being. Who doesn’t know that?

Each of us has experienced the fulfillment of spirit and body after a walk among the trees, in a natural setting, away from daily stress and excessive demands in virtually every individual sphere—family, professional, academic, or emotional.

This “well-being in the forest” is not just an observation; it has been scientifically analyzed and proven, so much so that CAI and CNR, since 2020, have developed a scientific model that recognizes the health value of this practice as a preventive and therapeutic tool.

It is precisely with this perspective that the FOREST THERAPY WORKSHOP has been organized as part of the RiattivaMenti Project: Traditional Crafts and Youth Participation to Revitalize Valle Maira, submitted by the municipality of Celle di Macra as lead partner, with participation from the municipalities of Macra, Prazzo, Elva, Marmora, Canosio, Stroppo, and Villar San Costanzo, along with Uncem Piemonte, Centro Studi Cultura e Territorio APS, Associazione Chaliar ODV, Associazione Luoghi di Passaggio APS, Associazione Escarton APS, and Consulta Giovanile Valle Maira and funded by the Piedmont Region, through the Youth Policy Fund as part of the regional initiative “Piemonte per i Giovani” pursuant to Regional Law 6/2019.

The workshop, intended for young people aged 15 to 34, aims to be a moment of connection with nature, providing a wellness experience capable of reducing daily stress.

Five sessions are planned, led by psychotherapist Dr. Andrea Testa, an expert in the field, with support from environmental hiking guide Demetrio Zema.

The session dates are:

• June 26 at 5:00 PM workshop presentation in Macra at the Infoecopoint
• July 4 from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM in Celle di Macra
• July 11 from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM in Elva
• July 18 from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM in Marmora
• July 25 from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM in Stroppo

The first appointment is in Macra, at the Infoecopoint-Ecomuseum Office, for the workshop presentation.

The meeting locations for outdoor activities will be communicated later.

At the end of the outdoor activities, an aperitif dinner will be offered to participants

The activity is organized with the support of the Vocational Training Agency of Dronero and the collaboration of the Ecomuseum of Upper Valle Maira.
