Adult Course on Stone Wall Construction Techniques in Macra from May 30 to June 27, 2026

The Workshop on stone wall construction techniques for adults will begin on Saturday, May 30 in Macra and will conclude on Saturday, June 27, taking place over multiple days.

The course aims to transmit knowledge related to stone wall construction through theoretical lessons and practical activities carried out in the field.

Expert instructors in Alpine architecture, construction site safety, and stone structures characteristic of Valle Maira will alternate with practical activity instructors who will provide participants with guidance on the construction techniques to be adopted.

The course is intended for adults and young people (of legal age) who are Italian and/or foreign and wish to acquire training and manual skills in stone wall construction techniques.

The course consists of 36 hours, of which 4 are theoretical lessons and 32 are practical activities.

The theoretical part will take place at the INFOECOPOINT in Macra, in Piazza Municipio, while the practical part of wall construction will take place at the Vigna di San Pietro area.

Visits to some stone structures are planned for the analysis of textures and structures of ancient buildings.

The days on which the activity will take place are:

• Saturday, May 30, all day;
• Saturday, June 6, all day;
• Sunday, June 7, all day;
• Saturday, June 13, all day;
• Saturday, June 27, in the morning.

The course is completely free: course instruction, meals, and any accommodation are covered by the organization.
