“Occitanas” is an absolutely unique musical group in the Occitan music scene. It was founded in 2014 from an idea by Sergio Berardo (leader of Lou Dalfin) with the intent of creating something new and original, not only musically, but also in terms of stage presence.
The musicians (all women… except for one lucky “infiltrator”), hailing from various Occitan valleys, have formed a group that undoubtedly manages to surprise.
The goal is to create a solid and engaging sound, with carefully crafted arrangements and a diverse repertoire, without sacrificing the energetic and lively rhythm typical of the Occitan players who once livened up valley festivals.
The group performs a repertoire of traditional Occitan music and songs, with some forays into the dances of the neighboring Basque Country, as well as original compositions.
The wide range of instruments used, combined with the singer’s persuasive and powerful voice, allows “Occitanas” to present a varied and fascinating musical offering.
A “feminine” perspective on the vast Occitan repertoire.

Where? At the CANTUNAL Alpine Construction Laboratory and Recreation Center in Borgata Castellaro, Celle di Macra.
