Colle ciarbonet loop from ponte maira

Loop route starting from the Ponte Maira car park (1410 m). Cross the village and follow the signs for Colle Ciarbonet. After passing a wooden bridge, continue towards Grange Matteneota from where you take a dirt road for about one kilometre until you reach a fork. Here, take the path that is part of the Occitan Paths, which climbs steadily up to Colle Ciarbonet. On reaching the pass, it is possible to make a quick diversion to Monte Estelletta (+700m of development, +90m of altitude gain). From the Colle , descend towards Viviere on a mule track. Once in the hamlet, continue along the path to Chialvetta and take the “Scurcio”, a road that soon leads to Frere. Take the small tree-lined avenue that leads to Acceglio in ten minutes. Once in front of a small rock climbing area “‘l perùn ‘d Perìn”, take the path to the left that leads along the stream. Walk along the river until you reach Ponte Maira.
