Loop tour of Chiappera

The route starts from the parking area at Rifugio Campo Base and follows the Maurin Valley, partly alongside the cross-country ski trail, leading to the impressive natural amphitheatre of the Stroppia Waterfalls. Marked by purple signposts, the loop then returns to the starting point with a gentle descent through the forest on the opposite side of the stream, in a well-preserved and scenic natural setting. From the refuge, it is also possible to continue snowshoeing to the village of Chiappera, where the route connects with the trail coming from Saretto di Acceglio.
The itinerary covers a total distance of 5 km, almost 3 km of which run along existing roads or paths. Thanks to its limited elevation gain and short length, the route presents no technical difficulties and is suitable for all levels.
