Acceglio – Ponte Marmora Cycle Path
A splendid route connecting Ponte Marmora to Acceglio, running mainly along the right orographic bank of the Maira stream. The path follows largely ancient military roads and pleasant dirt trails with compact, smooth surfaces, characterized by a very “flow” nature that makes them suitable even for cyclists with little experience.
The route passes mainly through woods and natural environments of great charm, while offering the opportunity to discover the towns and numerous hamlets of the valley floor. Many settlements are crossed directly, while others are easily accessible via the network of secondary roads connecting to the main route.
The gradients are generally moderate and allow the cycle path to be tackled in both directions, whether starting from Ponte Marmora or Acceglio. Due to its characteristics, it represents an excellent introduction to Valle Maira: an ideal route to become familiar with the area and savor its landscapes, history, and atmosphere before attempting longer and more challenging itineraries.
