Sant Marcelin Fair

As every year, in Macra, the Sant Marcelin fair dedicated to the anchovy sellers of Valle Maira returns. The program is full of events.

It begins SATURDAY, APRIL 25 at 9:15 AM with a musical walk on the Cyclamen Trail starting and ending at the Macra tent pavilion. Along the route there will be 4 stops for 4 mini concerts.

At 10:30 AM official opening of the fair with the authorities and round table on the theme “HEROIC VITICULTURE. Past and future of viticulture in upper Valle Maira “, an initiative that is part of the “Maraman – cultural landscape of the Occitan Valleys” series

After lunch provided by ProLoco Rupicapra, featuring typical anchovy seller flavors, at 2:00 PM there will be the first cultural walk to discover Macra, organized by the Ecomuseum of Upper Valle Maira (B.R.I.C.A. project funded by PNRR – Ministry of Culture Call M1C3 “Villages Call” Intervention Line B) departing from the Ecomuseum office.

Continuing at 3:00 PM with the Occitan dance course with Daniela Mandrile.

At 4:00 PM second cultural walk to discover Macra.

At 6:00 PM, in Sala Young, the documentary “In the Mountains with Experts” by Tiziana Fantino on mountain safety and awareness will be screened.

At 7:00 PM everyone to the table with the delicacies of ProLoco Rupicapra.

At 9:00 PM Occitan torchlight procession with “Lo Cepon” through the streets of Macra.

At 10:00 PM traditional concert by Lou Dalfin in the Macra tent pavilion, followed by the night continuing with DJ Fabri Prince.

Continuing SUNDAY, APRIL 26 at 9:30 AM with the procession to the parish church of Sant Marcelin where Holy Mass will be held.

At 10:00 AM walk with the Alpacas for families and children’s workshops by MairAlpaca.

At 12:00 PM lunch featuring typical anchovy seller flavors

At 3:00 PM the dancing resumes with Rescontre di Sonaires and Gran Ballo Occitano by Sergio Berardo.
