Restart of the shuttle service to the Gardetta Plateau!<\/p>\n
Starting from SATURDAY, August 2, 2025, until SUNDAY, August 24, 2025, the continuous shuttle service will be activated, allowing access to the Gardetta Plateau without a car. Follow this link for the municipal ordinance on road closure and parking payment methods.<\/p>\n
The Gardetta Plateau is an area of exceptional value in terms of landscape and natural features, and the discovery of Triassic reptile footprints in the area has further increased its geological significance. Thanks to the presence of fossil remains of marine organisms, coastal dunes, ancient river pebbles, and volcanic lava flows, it was recognized as an Italian Geological Heritage site in 2001.<\/p>\n
This year, the ordinances from the mayors of Canosio, Castelmagno, and Sambuco, in addition to limiting traffic on the Grange Selvest-Colle del Preit road stretch, have sanctioned a total closure to vehicular traffic on the Plateau, aiming to preserve the environment and direct visitors towards slow tourism, which focuses on details, supports, and values the surrounding spaces, and seeks relaxation in places in close contact with nature.<\/p>\n
The initiative promoted and organized by the Valle Maira Tourist Consortium, in collaboration with the Municipality of Canosio, through a shuttle service will allow tourists and hikers to reach the magnificent plateau, a crossroads of three valleys, in complete tranquility. The project also aims at the safety of users as the road to the Plateau is winding and allows passage only in alternating directions.<\/p>\n
The shuttle provides regular services (Grange Selvest\/Colle del Preit route) with continuous service from 8:15 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM.<\/p>\n
There are also special trips (Borgata Vernetti di Marmora \u2013 Canosio (in front of the Town Hall) \u2013 Borgata Preit di Canosio \u2013 Grange Selvest parking area \u2013 Colle del Preit), with a trip to Colle del Preit at 7:55 AM from Borgata Vernetti di Marmora and a return to Borgata Vernetti at 5:30 PM.<\/p>\n
Tickets can be purchased directly on the shuttle.<\/p>\n
Dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on a leash and preferably in arms.<\/p>\n

Possible service suspension<\/p>\n
The organization reserves the right to suspend the service daily in case of completely adverse weather forecasts. In such cases, the suspension of the service will be communicated via news on the vallemaira.org website and on the Valle Maira social media pages (FB and IG).<\/p>\n
