Black skies
Light pollutes. It is an insidious form of poisoning our lives that humanity relies on, mistaking daylight as a conquest of freedom instead of stealing the hours of darkness we need for proper physical and psychic balance.
‘Black Skies’ is a journey across Europe to discover that too many street lamps do not keep thieves away, but steal the night, the stars and their mysteries from us. A journey that ends in the Maira Valley, on the Gardetta plateau, and which we will discuss with Irene Borgna: writer, nature guide, but also philosopher, anthropologist and populariser.
The meeting is open to all and is particularly aimed at those who love the mountains, who believe in the opportunity provided by tourism to continue to create value on the territory, but who hope that this will happen while preserving the environmental and social balances that the mountains themselves ask us to respect.
